TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: TRAFFIC - PERMIT - FAIL TO EXHIBIT TRAFFIC - MISUSE OF TAGS 19:54:00 230902002026 R/O observed a vehicle with tags affixed to the rear bumper park in the unit block of Louisiana Avenue NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle's tag revealed that it belonged to a different vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. During the stop, the Suspect was unable to provide R/O with a physical driver's license. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect did not have a valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters for processing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY OF A MOTOR VEHICLE - MISD + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: THEFT IN THE SECOND DEGREE (THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE) FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE 23:50:00 230903002029 R/O responded for a report of a vehicle that was broken into in an alleyway located behind the 300 Block of First Street SE. The investigation revealed that two Suspects had broken the rear passenger window of the vehicle and that one Suspect had climbed into the vehicle. Both Suspects fled the scene on foot. A canvas for the Suspects was negative. CSS responded and processed the scene.
SIMPLE ASSAULT DC CODE 22-404 11:48:00 230901002019 R/O responded to the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NW for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, R/O was flagged down by the Complainant who stated that they were in the Suspect's car when they got into a verbal argument. The Suspect stopped the car and told the Complainant to get out. While the Complainant was exiting the vehicle, the Suspect pushed the Complainant causing them to fall to the pavement, injuring the Complainant's head, shoulder, and knees. The Suspect then fled the scene. A search of the immediate area was met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID 12:54:00 230830002001 R/O observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the Unit Block of H Street NW with an expired tag. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of G Place NE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect's Maryland permit was suspended with no valid status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID 10:34:00 230830002000 R/O observed a vehicle traveling westbound in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SW drive through a solid red light. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of Independence Avenue SW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect's Maryland permit was suspended with no valid status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL - VEHICLE 01:12:00 230830001997 R/O observed what appeared to be a disabled vehicle parked on the north curb in the Unit Block of H Street NW. While speaking to the driver, R/O detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath. SFST's were conducted. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest, and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory search of the Suspect's vehicle, R/O observed several open containers of liquid consistent with alcohol located in the center console.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENT - HIT & RUN 13:15:00 230829001993 R/O responded for a report of a hit and run in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SE. Upon arrival, the Complainant stated that they parked their vehicle around 1315 hours with no damage. When they returned to their car at approximately 1530 hours, they discovered damage to their vehicle. A search of the area for the striking vehicle was met with negative results. CIS was notified, and will continue to investigate.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENT- LEAVING SCENE- PERSONAL INJURY 13:38:44 230829009009 R/O responded for the report of a hit and run traffic accident at Louisiana Avenue and C Street NW. Upon arrival, the Complainant stated the Suspect vehicle collided with the rear of their vehicle on I-395 while approaching the D Street NW exit. The Suspect fled the scene, and was last seen exiting towards the C Street NW ramp. A canvas of the striking vehicle was met with negative results. CIS was notified, and will continue to investigate.
ASSAULT W/INTENT TO ROB + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: SIMPLE ASSAULT 07:17:00 230828009004 R/O was in the 500 Block of South Capitol Street SE when he observed the Suspect approach and attempted to yank a backpack from the Complainants shoulders. R/O spoke with the Suspect who admitted to assaulting the Complainant. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
FAILURE TO OBEY POLICE OFFICER + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: CARRYING A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS UNREG FIREARM - MISD UNREG AMMO - MISD 00:27:00 230827001990 R/O was traveling eastbound in the Unit Block of M Street SE when he heard a loud bang consistent with a vehicle collision. As R/O responded to investigate, R/O observed the Suspect exit the vehicle from the driver seat and walk away from the vehicle collision. R/O ran after the Suspect and gave loud verbal commands to stop near 14 M Street SE, in which the Suspect did not comply. During the foot pursuit, R/O simultaneously heard the sound of a loud clank consistent with that of a metal object striking concrete. R/O gave loud verbal commands again informing the Suspect to stop, where the Suspect was detained with the assistance of Metropolitan Police Officers. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath. R/O located a fully functional black handgun and a magazine with four (4) rounds on the ground in the path of the foot pursuit. CSS responded and processed the scene. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. While in processing, A/O responded to conduct SFSTs. The A/Os observations were consistent with the Suspect being impaired.
