THEFT FIRST DEGREE (THEFT FROM BUILDING) 8:15:00 240706001742 R/O responded to the West Front of the U.S. Capitol Building for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, the complainant stated the concert production tent was shut down at 2130 hours on Friday, July 5th. When the complainant returned on Saturday, July 6th at 0630 hours the tent was open. The complainant noticed two Motorola handheld radios were missing. A search of the area was met with negative results. CIS was notified.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY - MISD + CONTEMPT OF COURT 2:44:00 240706001741 R/O was approached by a Suspect at the Senate Door of the U.S. Capitol Building that had an active stay away order/barring notice issued by Criminal Investigations Section (CIS). R/O recognized the Suspect from the BOLO. The suspect stated that they were aware of the stay away order and were not supposed to be on Capitol grounds. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY + ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER RESISTING ARREST 17:11:00 240705001737 R/O responded to a call for a Suspect that jumped bike rack barriers on the West Front of the Capitol Building and proceeded to climb the stairs. The Suspect was instructed to stop but refused. While being detained the Suspect pulled away and resisted being arrested. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CIS was notified.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY 8:30:00 240705001732 R/O discovered several papers torn from a wall outside an office in a House Office Building. When R/O attempted to contact the office staff, he discovered the office to be unoccupied. Later the same day, A/O made contact with the Complainant who works in the office. CIS was notified.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE 10:13:00 240704001720 R/O observed a vehicle traveling northbound in the 200 Block of Washington Avenue SW with an expired temporary registration. A WALES check of the vehicle revealed the registration belonged to a different vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed an active extraditable warrant out of Fairfax County, Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
THEFT SECOND DEGREE (ALL OTHER LARCENY) 13:38:00 240704001722 R/O responded to the West Front of the U.S. Capitol Building for the report of a theft. The Complainant reported to R/O they placed their wallet under the stage at approximately 2330 hours on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. When they returned at approximately 1300 hours on Thursday, July 4, 2024 the wallet was gone. An immediate canvass of the area was met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY + DISORDELY CONDUCT ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER X2 14:40:00 2.40702E+11 R/O was flagged down at First Street and Independence Avenue SE for a passenger who stripped, and refused to exit a WMATA bus. The Suspect blocked the entrance and exit of the bus. R/O gave the Suspect multiple verbal commands to exit the bus. Following a brief chase, the Suspect went down to the ground with little to no force. When R/O attempted to detain the Suspect with handcuffs, the Suspect kicked R/Os leg, and kicked and spat on multiple assisting officers. The Suspect was arrested, transported to Headquarters, and processed.
NO PERMIT + LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS 10:10:00 2.40701E+11 R/O observed a vehicle that displayed a Virginia temporary registration not in compliance with DMV code, and travelled westbound in the 300 Block of Maryland Avenue NE. A WALES/NCIC inquiry revealed the tag belonged to a different vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated in the 200 Block of Maryland Avenue NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was arrested, transported to Headquarters, and processed.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY 17:29:00 2.40701E+11 R/O responded to the Northwest Door of a House Office Building for a Suspect who refused to leave the area. Upon arrival, A/O advised the R/O that the Suspect refused to leave the screening area after being screened. R/O and A/O gave the Suspect multiple commands to leave, but the Suspect refused to comply. The Suspect was arrested, transported to Headquarters, and processed.
CDW - OTHER WEAPON + RESISTING ARREST CROWDING OBSTRUCTING INCOMMODING 12:02:00 2.40629E+11 R/O responded to the 100 Block of D Street NE for the report of a man standing in the middle of the road. RO gave verbal commands for the Suspect to move to the sidewalk, but the Suspect refused. The Suspect pulled a sharpened tool from their pocket and pointed the weapon at the officers and then fled northbound on Second Street NE. The Suspect was stopped in the 400 Block of Second Street NE and resisted to placing their hands behind their back. CSS responded and processed the scene. The Suspect was arrested and transported to Headquarters for processing.
