SIMPLE ASSAULT DC CODE 22-404 + ADDITIONAL CHARGE: POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE | 01:35:00 | 230611001349 | R/O responded to First Street and Constitution Avenue NW for a report of an assault. While on scene, the Complainant stated that he was walking near First and C Streets NW, where he was chased, physically held down and assaulted on the ground. The Complainant positively identified the Suspect who was speaking with the officer at the USCP checkpoint. During an incident search to arrest, R/O found a small clear container, containing a white powdery substance in the Suspects right front pocket. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded to prisoner processing to recover the small clear container. | |
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS | 01:01:00 | 230610001341 | R/O observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street at a high rate of speed passing through a red signal. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 100 Block of D Street NW. Upon approach R\O spoke with the Suspect and due to the suspicion of impairment SFSTs were conducted. Due to the numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
CARRYING A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE (CPWL) | 18:35:00 | 230610001346 | R/O observed a vehicle make an illegal left turn in the 200 Block of Constitution Avenue NW. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 100 Block of Constitution Avenue NW. Upon approach, R/O observed a rifle magazine in plain view on top of the rear driver's side seat. R/O conducted a preliminary investigation, which revealed the Suspect had a Glock handgun loaded with 14 rounds of ammunition on the floor of the driver's seat. CIS and CSS responded to process the scene. An inquiry from the MPD Gun Registration Unit revealed the Suspect did not have a license to carry, nor was the weapon registered in the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. An inventory search of the vehicle revealed two additional loaded handgun magazines containing 15 rounds of ammunition each, and a clear zip-lock bag containing 45 rounds of loose ammunition. | |

R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 300 Block of C Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a warrant out of Clayton County, Georgia. USCP Communications confirmed the warrant was active and extraditable. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |

The WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had an outstanding warrant through Maryland State Police. USCP Communications confirmed the warrant was active and extraditable. BENCH WARRANT-MISDEMEANOR + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS | 17:16:00 | 230609001339 | R/O responded to the intersection of First Street and Constitution Avenue NW for the report of a person laying in the middle of the road. Upon arrival R/O observed the Suspect laying on the ground and conducted a WALES/NCIC check which revealed the Suspect had a warrant which USCP Communications confirmed was active. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. While in processing R/O observed signs of impairment. SFSTs were administered and due to the numerous signs an additional charge was added. | |

R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SE. Upon approach, R/O detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were conducted and due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory search of the vehicle, an open container of alcohol was discovered. | |

R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. Upon approach, R/O detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the Suspect and the vehicle. SFSTs were conducted and due to the numerous signs of impairment the Suspect was placed under arrest. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was transported to Headquarters for processing. | |

Upon approaching the Suspect's vehicle, R/O observed an open bottle of an alcoholic beverage in plain view on the passenger floorboard. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no permit status in the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. | |
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY - $1000+ - FELONY + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: ATTEMPT THEFT 1 (STOLEN AUTO) UNLAWFUL ENTRY OF A MOTOE VEHICLE | 09:22:00 | 230607001308 | R/O responded to the Unit Block of E Street NE for a report shattered glass on a parked vehicle. While on the scene, R/O made contact with the Complainant who stated they parked their vehicle on the lot on June 6, 2023 at 0700 hours. When the Complainant returned to his vehicle, the back passenger window was shattered and the steering column was destroyed in an apparent attempt to steal the vehicle. CSS responded and processed the scene. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate. |
