TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL - POCA. 21:28:00 23041400779 R/O observed a vehicle pass through a solid red traffic signal in the Unit Block of Third Street NW. R/O conducted a traffic stop at the same location. While speaking with the driver, R/O noticed the driver had rigidly fixed eye contact with rapid and repetitive speech. While conducting a WALES/NCIC check, A/O advised R/O that the Suspect made a statement that he consumed an alcoholic beverage. SFST's were administered, and due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory search, A/O located an open container in the trunk of the vehicle three quarters full consistent with that of alcohol.
CONTEMPT OF COURT 11:55:00 230413000759 R/O responded to the second floor of the James Madison Memorial Building for a call regarding a person with a stay away order from U.S Capitol Grounds. R/O located the suspect in the second floor reading room. A name check was conducted and S/A confirmed the stay away order issued by the DC Superior Courts. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS. 04:13:00 230412000746 R/O responded to the Unit Block of Louisiana Avenue NW for the report of a vehicle stopped in the southbound lane of travel. R/O observed a vehicle matching the description and conducted a traffic stop at the same location. Upon approach, R/O observed an individual asleep in the driver's seat with the vehicle running and could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended license out of Virginia with no valid permit in the District of Columbia or Maryland. SFST's were administered, and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL-VEHICLE. 16:52:00 230411000745 R/O observed a vehicle pass through a solid red light at the intersection of Columbus Circle and Louisiana Avenue NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. Upon approach, R/O observed the Suspect throw an open beer can out the passenger side window. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were administered, and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. A/O responded and processed the scene.
CDW - OTHER WEAPON. 05:18:00 230410000730 R/O and several assisting officers were dispatched to the 400 Block of Washington Avenue SW for an individual carrying a sword. Once on scene, the officers spoke with the Suspect who was brandishing a makeshift sword. During the conversation, the Suspect became agitated, yelled at the officers, and then swung the sword which struck a light pole. The Suspect ran to the 500 Block of South Capitol Street while still possessing the sword. R/O and A/O's attempted to arrest the Suspect who became combative. R/O and A/O's were able to gain control, and placed the Suspect under arrest. The Suspect was transported to Headquarters for processing. A WALES/NCIC inquiry of the Suspect revealed an active Bench Warrant held by the District of Columbia Superior Court. A/O responded and processed the scene.
UUV - FELONY. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID BENCH WARRANT-MISDEMEANOR CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES ACT. 15:33:00 230409000726 R/O observed a vehicle traveling westbound in the Unit Block of H Street NE matching the description of a stolen vehicle. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of H Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check confirmed the vehicle was stolen and the Suspect driving the vehicle did not have a valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect also had a confirmed active warrant through Alexandria, Virginia. A WALES/NCIC check on the passenger revealed that Suspect also had an active warrant through the District of Columbia Superior Court. All of the warrants were confirmed through USCP Communications. While searching the second Suspect, two bags containing a white rock like substance were discovered. Both Suspects were placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. A/O responded to process the scene.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID 23:23:00 230409000728 R/O observed a vehicle traveling northbound in the 400 Block of South Capitol Street SE without a rear tag displayed. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 400 Block of New Jersey Avenue SE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect's Maryland permit was suspended with no valid status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS. ADDITIONAL CHARGE: POSS OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL. 21:29:00 230408000724 R/O responded to the intersection of First Street and Constitution Avenue NW for a report of a driver asleep behind the wheel. Once on scene, R/O observed the Suspect exiting the driver's seat of the vehicle. R/O initiated contact and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were conducted. Due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During a subsequent inventory search of the Suspect's vehicle, multiple open containers of alcohol were found near the vehicle's center console.
UUV - FELONY. ADDITIONAL CHARGE: THEFT II-FROM AUTO. 09:25:00 230408000718 R/O observed a vehicle matching the description of one reported as stolen while at the intersection of M and South Capitol Streets SE. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle's tags confirmed it was stolen. R/O continued to follow the vehicle but briefly lost sight of it as it turned into an alleyway in the 900 Block of Third Street SW. Upon reestablishing line of sight, R/O discovered the vehicle had been abandoned in the alleyway with the door ajar and the engine still running. R/O canvassed the immediate area with negative results. Upon speaking with the owner of the vehicle, R/O was advised a duffel bag containing several hundred dollars in cash should be in the vehicle's trunk. However, a search yielded no currency. A/O responded and processed the scene. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate.
BENCH WARRANT-MISDEMEANOR 09:00:00 230407000711 A/O observed R/O detaining a Suspect near the intersection of Indiana Avenue and Seventh Street NW. Upon approach, R/O placed the Suspect in handcuffs and was advised by A/O the Suspect caused a physical disturbance inside a private establishment near this location. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed two outstanding bench warrants though the District of Columbia, which were confirmed through USCP Communications. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
