The Complainant stated that approximately 300 pounds of copper wire worth $1,400 was found missing. All attempts to locate the property met with negative results. DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY - UNDER $1000 - MISD | 06:20:00 | 230706001574 | CIS met with the Complainant in reference to a destruction of property report. The Complainant state they parked their vehicle in the 200 Block of D Street SE on 06/22/23 at 1800 hours. When the Complainant returned to their vehicle on 06/23/23 at 1100 hours, both rear tires were punctured and flattened. Camera footage showed a Suspect intentionally flattening the tires and leaving the scene in a vehicle with an unknown registration. CIS will continue to investigate. | |
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: POSS OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL - POCA | 18:46:00 | 230706001584 | R/O responded to First Street and Constitution Avenue NE for a report of an intoxicated driver. A/O responded to the scene to assist R/O. While speaking with the Suspect, A/O detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath. A/O also observed an open can of beer on the rear floorboard of the vehicle. SFST's were conducted and due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID | 01:39:00 | 230702001541 | R/O observed a vehicle traveling the wrong way southbound in the Third Street Tunnel. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of D Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect's permit was expired out of Pennsylvania, revoked in Virginia, and no valid status through the District of Columbia or Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest, and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS | 02:30:00 | 230701001534 | R/O observed a vehicle accelerating at a high rate of speed and committing multiple traffic violations in the Unit Block of Third Street SW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 Block of Washington Avenue SW. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O observed that the individual had slurred speech, watery/glassy eyes and a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from their breath. SFSTs were conducted, and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |

A traffic stop was conducted in the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a revoked Learners Permit in Maryland and no status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: TRAFFIC ACCIDENT - LEAVING SCENE-PROPERTY DAMAGE POSS OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL-VEHICLE | 09:20:00 | 230629001521 | R/O and A/O were alerted to an MPD broadcast about a vehicle crashing into cars in the area of South Capitol Street. R/O responded to the 400 Block of Washington Avenue SW where they observed a vehicle matching the description of the broadcast and the Suspect seated on the curb. An investigation revealed that the Suspect struck a vehicle in the 1100 Block of South Capitol Street and then left the scene. The Complainant of that accident followed the Suspect to the 400 Block of Washington Avenue SW, where she then advised the Witness, who was an on duty MPD Officer, of the incident. On scene, R/O detected an overpowering smell of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspects breath and person. R/O attempted to perform SFST's, however, the Suspect was unable to complete them due to his extreme impairment. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During a search of the vehicle an open container of alcohol was found. CSS responded to process the scene. | |

R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of D Street SW. Upon approach, R/O detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspects breath. SFST's were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |

TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID | 20:48:00 | 230628001519 | R/O and A/O while on patrol, observed a motorcycle with an occupant wearing no helmet traveling eastbound in the 200 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. R/O conducted a WALES/NCIC check which revealed no valid registration for the motorcycle's tag. A traffic stop was conducted in the 600 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no valid permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. |
