TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: TRAFFIC - PERMIT - FAIL TO EXHIBIT 23:51:00 230603001262 R/O observed a vehicle drive through a solid red light at the intersection of Second and D Streets NW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of E Street NW. The Suspect was unable to provide a physical driver's license but claimed to have one. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS 14:32:00 230602001254 R/O observed a vehicle displaying what appeared to be altered tags traveling in the 100 Block of Third Street SW. A WALES/NCIC check of the tags revealed they were expired despite showing an expiration date of October 2023. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed an expired learner's permit out of the District of Columbia, a surrendered permit out of Maryland, and no permit status in Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory search of the vehicle, multiple rounds of ammunition were discovered. CSS-1 and CSS-2 responded to process the scene.
CARJACKING 01:55:00 230602001250 R/O and A/O were flagged down in the 400 Block of Washington Avenue SW for a report of an armed carjacking. While driving Northbound I-395 prior to Exit 6, two men armed with handguns pulled in front of the Complainant and was ordered to get out of the vehicle. The vehicle drove off Northbound I-395 into the 3rd Street Tunnel. The Complainant's cell phone was in the vehicle at the time of the carjacking. An attempt to track the phone was unsuccessful. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
CARRYING A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE (CPWL) + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: UNREG AMMO - MISD TRAFFIC - PERMIT - NO VALID UNREG FIREARM - MISD UNLAWFUL TRANSPORTATION OF FIREARM OBLITERATE, REMOVE, CHANGE, OR ALTER THE SERIAL NUMBER OF A FIREARM 15:05:00 230601001246 R/O was in the 500 Block of C Street NE when he observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Sixth Street NE with no front tag. A WALES/NCIC inquiry of the rear tag revealed an expired registration. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NW. A WALES/NCIC of the Suspect revealed no valid operators permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest. R/O and A/O conducted an inventory search of the vehicle and discovered a handgun with an obliterated serial number and a magazine loaded with four live rounds of ammunition. CSS-1 and CSS-2 responded to process the scene. CIS and TAS responded to the scene and determined the handgun was not registered in the District of Columbia. The Suspect was transported to Headquarters for processing.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE 09:43:00 230601001237 The Office of Background Investigations and Credentialing responded to a USCP Building to conduct a WALES/NCIC inquiry of an individual seeking employment. The WALES/NCIC revealed the Suspect had a confirmed active extraditable warrant out of Arlington County, Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
FLEEING FROM A POLICE OFF-FELONY DC50-2201.05b(b)2 + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: FAILURE TO OBEY POLICE OFFICER CRUELTY TO CHILDREN - MISD TRAFFIC - RECKLESS DRIVING 08:30:00 230601001235 R/O-1 and R/O-2 were traveling westbound in the 300 Block of M Street SE when they observed a vehicle approaching from their rear at a high rate of speed with heavy front-end damage. The Suspect was observed weaving in and out of traffic, failing to use signals, and carelessly speeding through traffic. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle tag revealed an expired registration. R/O-1 and R/O-2 attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 1200 Block of South Capitol Street SW, but the Suspect continued to pass through a solid red signal. A traffic stop was conducted in traffic in the 1500 Block of South Capitol Street SW. Upon approach, R/O-1 and R/O-2 gave loud verbal commands to the Suspect to place the vehicle in park and open the driver's side door. After the vehicle was placed in park, R/O-1 observed an unrestrained child, crawl from the front seat to the back. Once the child was in the backseat, the Suspect placed the vehicle in drive, without securing the child and accelerated at a high rate of speed, narrowly striking R/O-2. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID 16:56:00 230530001223 R/O responded to the Unit Block of Louisiana Avenue NW for a two-vehicle traffic accident. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver operating the striking vehicle revealed no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - MISUSE OF TAGS + TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID 10:36:00 230530001217 R/O observed a vehicle displaying a counterfeit Virginia paper tag in the Unit Block of D Street NE. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the rear tag revealed the tag was expired and belonging to another vehicle. Additionally, the Suspect had no valid permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID + ADDITIONAL CHARGE: PPW-A-MISD 02:05:07 230526001211 R/O while on routine patrol observed a vehicle commit several traffic violations in the area of South Capitol and I Streets SE. A traffic stop was then conducted in the Unit Block of I Street SE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended license out of North Carolina with no status in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and taken to Headquarters for processing. While inventorying the vehicle, R/O located a knife in the center console of the vehicle. CSS responded to the scene and processed the knife.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS + ADDITIONAL CHARGE: POSS OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL - VEHICLE 07:21:00 230528001206 R/O observed an individual asleep in a parked vehicle along the curb in the 500 Block of North Capitol Street NW. R/O conducted a welfare check of the Suspect. Upon approach, R/O detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the car. SFST's were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. While conducting inventory search of the vehicle, R/O discovered a silver flask filled with a clear liquid that smelled of alcohol and appeared to be tequila.
