SIMPLE ASSAULT DC CODE 22-404 - ADDITIONAL CHARGE: FAILURE TO APPEAR DC CODE 23-DC703 18:13:00 230509001027 R/O responded to the Unit Block of D Street NW in reference to a report of an assault. A/O-1 arrived on scene and located the Complainant at the Intersection of Delaware Avenue and D Street NE. The Complainant reported that while walking eastbound in the Unit Block of D Street NW the Suspect punched them in the back of the head. A lookout was given by USCP Communications. A/O-2 observed an individual matching the lookout at the Intersection of Louisiana Avenue and D Street NW. A show up was conducted with the Complainant who confirmed the identity of the Suspect. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had an active bench warrant issued by the District of Columbia Superior Court. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. S/O was notified and will continue to investigate.
THEFT II 15:05:00 230509001021 R/O responded to the Library of Congress Madison Building for the report of a theft. The Complainant stated they left their backpack inside the Montpelier room overnight. When the Complainant returned the next morning the bag was gone. A search of the area for the backpack was met with negative results. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY - MISD 11:05:00 230509001018 R/O responded to a House Office Building for a report of multiple people protesting and refusing to leave a private office. The Complainant asked the Suspects to leave in the presence of the R/O. The Suspects refused to leave, were placed under arrest, and transported to Headquarters for processing.
THEFT II-FROM AUTO 11:35:00 230508001000 R/O was approached by a Metropolitan Police Department Officer at the Rayburn Taxi Stand in regard to a case of a previously stolen vehicle on May 6, 2023. A member's plate was present inside of the stolen vehicle. House parking and USCP Intel Division were notified. USCP Intel Division will continue to investigate.
CARRYING A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE (CPWL) ADDITIONAL CHARGES: UNREG FIREARM - MISD UNREG AMMO - MISD 05:35:00 230508000997 R/O was at the Longworth South Capitol Street Door when an individual entered the building and placed their bag through the X-ray machine. R/O observed an image of what appeared to be a gun from that same bag. R/O conducted a physical inspection of the bag and observed a firearm inside along with a ten round capacity magazine loaded with 4 rounds. An inquiry through the MPD - Gun Registration Unit revealed the Suspect did not possess a license to carry a concealed firearm in the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS-1 and CSS-2 responded and processed the scene. S/A responded and continued the investigation.
THREATS TO DO BODILY HARM-MISD 17:00:00 230508001013 R/O responded to a House Office Building for a report of an individual making threats via phone. The Complainant stated the Suspect has been calling over the past couple of months making threatening comments. An email was sent to the Threats Section (TAS) of USCP by the Complainant notifying them of the incident. TAS will continue to investigate.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS ADDITIONAL CHARGES: TRAFFIC - RECKLESS DRIVING TRAFFIC - FAILURE TO OBEY POLICE 02:23:00 230508000996 R/O observed a vehicle commit several traffic violations on North Capitol Street, and in the Unit Block of E Street NW, an attempt to make traffic stop was made, but the Suspect continued driving through the 200 Block of E Street NW. The Suspect continued at a high rate of speed, and went the wrong way down a one way road until R/O discontinued the pursuit. R/O canvassed the area, and eventually located the Suspect who crashed into a light pole at First and D Street NW. While speaking with R/O, the Suspect admitted to having consumed alcoholic beverages before driving. The Suspect was transported to Headquarters for SFST's and processing.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID 23:16:00 230509001015 R/O observed a vehicle without a rear tag traveling southbound in the Unit Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of Constitution Avenue NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no valid permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER - MISDEMEANOR ADDITIONAL CHARGES: ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER - MISDEMEANOR ASSAULT - SIMPLE - MISD 22:12:00 230507000995 R/O and A/O observed an assault in progress in the 100 Block of D Street NW. A/O observed the Suspect striking the Complainant multiple times. After being placed under arrest, the Suspect became violent by kicking and spitting on the officers before being placed into the transport vehicle. CSS responded and processed the scene. The Suspect was transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 03:20:00 230507000992 R/O observed a vehicle commit several traffic violations in the Unit Block of I Street SE. A traffic stop was then conducted in the 300 block of I Street SE. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O smelled an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from the driver. SFST's were conducted, and due to multiple signs of impairment the Suspect was placed under arrest, and transported to Headquarters for processing.
