A WALES/NCIC check revealed the vehicle's registration was expired. A traffic stop was conducted at the intersection of Third Street and Independence Avenue SE. When asked to provide a driver's license, the Suspect was unable to do so. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect did not have a valid driver's permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |

R/O conducted a traffic stop at the same location. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O detected a strong chemical odor emanating from inside the vehicle. SFST's were administered, and due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory search, R/O and A/O-1 located an open container in the center cupholder of the vehicle consistent with that of alcohol. A/O-2 responded and processed the scene. | |
