DEFACING GOVERNMENT PROPERTY - MISD 11:40:00 230223000304 R/O observed a sign at the corner of Independence and New Jersey Avenues SE that was vandalized. A search for the Suspect was met with negative results. Officer West and Technician Robinson (CSS) responded and processed the scene.
THEFT II 12:30:00 230222000299 R/O responded to the O'Neill House Office Building for the report of a theft. Upon arrival, the Complainant informed R/O that several items were discovered missing from a secure room. The items reported missing were a MacBook, an HP Laptop, and two iPad Pros. The items were last seen in mid-December, 2022. A search of the area was met with negative results. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate.
RECKLESS DRIVING - MISD. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: PERMIT - FAIL TO EXHIBIT TRAFFIC - PERMIT - NO VALID 19:45:00 230220000286 R/O observed a motorcycle with no lights running and no rear tag traveling southbound in the Unit Block of Third Street SW. R/O also observed the Suspect pass through multiple red lights, and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The Suspect of the vehicle disregarded R/O's emergency equipment, and accelerated through additional red lights. R/O conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Second Street and Washington Avenue SW. The Suspect failed to produce a permit. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID TRAFFIC - MISUSE OF TAGS 12:43:00 230220000282 R/O observed a vehicle with its windows down and a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle traveling eastbound in the Unit Block of D Street NE. R/O conducted a WALES/NCIC check on the tag, which returned to a different vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of Second Street NE. Upon approach, R/O noticed the Suspect's eyes were red, watery, and bloodshot. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect's Maryland ID card revealed no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. SFST's were conducted; due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS. ADDITIONAL CHARGE: POSS OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL-VEHICLE 08:06:00 230219000279 R/O observed a parked vehicle, with a driver sleeping, in the 200 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. While speaking with the driver, R/O detected a moderate odor of alcohol emitting from the Suspect's breath. SFST's were conducted, and due to numerous signs of impairment the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During a search of the vehicle, R/O observed an open container of alcohol that was located in the drivers seat.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 19:58:00 230218000278 R/O observed a vehicle with a flat tire on the passenger side driving westbound in the Unit Block of Constitution Avenue NE. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O observed an open bottle of what appeared to be an alcohol beverage, as well as detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath. A/O administered SFST's, and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
UUV - FELONY. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY - $1000 & OVER - FELONY TRAFFIC - PERMIT NO-VALID RESISTING ARREST ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER - MISDEMEANOR x3 THREATS TO DO BODILY HARM - MISDEMEANOR x2. 14:11:00 230218000277 R/O observed a vehicle with a plastic bag covering a rear window while traveling in the 600 Block of Massachusetts Avenue, NE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the vehicle was reported stolen. R/O and A/O-1 followed the direction of the vehicle and located the vehicle parked in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue, NW. A Witness identified the Suspect to R/O as the person that parked and exited the vehicle. When R/O attempted to make contact with the Suspect, the Suspect fled southbound in the 600 Block of New Jersey Avenue, NW. R/O and A/O apprehended the Suspect in the Unit Block of F Street, NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect's permit revealed no valid status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. While being transported to Headquarters, the Suspect began bucking, flailing and kicking the R/O and A/O-1 while also making verbal threats to A/O-2 and A/O-1. A/O-3 responded and processed the scene. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: TRAFFIC - RECKLESS DRIVING POSS W/I TO DIST MARIJUANNA-MISD 03:22:00 230218000275 R/O responded to the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE for a report of a vehicle accident. A/O-1 observed an individual commit several traffic violations to include driving over a median then coming to a stop facing oncoming traffic. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. SFST's were conducted and due to multiple signs of impairment the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. A/O-2 responded and processed the vehicle on scene. While processing the vehicle officers found a large amount of money, multiple clear small baggies, a scale, and two bags containing a substance that tested positive for marijuana. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID 00:15:00 230217000265 R/O observed a vehicle that turned westbound into the unit block of E Street NE from the center eastbound lane of Columbus Circle NE, nearly striking another vehicle in the process. A traffic stop was subsequently conducted in the 200 block of D Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no valid permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: - FAIL TO EXHIBIT 03:15:00 230217000268 R/O observed a vehicle driving westbound in the eastbound lane of the 200 block of Constitution Avenue NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 block of Constitution Avenue NE. The Suspect failed to provide a physical driver's license to R/O. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no valid permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
