The BOLO was in reference to a male who was seen leaving a stolen vehicle that was parked in the 200 Block of Washington Avenue, SW. R/O made contact with the Suspect and confirmed him to be the driver of the vehicle. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | TRAFFIC ACCIDENT - HIT & RUN | 21:36:00 | 230120000116 | R/O responded to the Unit Block of First Street NE for a report of a hit and run. Upon arriving on scene, R/O spoke with the Complainant whose vehicle was struck by another vehicle while he was heading northbound in the Unit Block of First Street NE. The Suspect stopped briefly to check for damage and left the scene. A canvas of the area for the Suspect was met with negative results. (jb) | |

Upon arrival, R/O spoke with the Complainant who stated a vehicle struck them and drove away. The striking vehicle continued traveling southbound in the 100 Block of Second Street NE without stopping. An immediate search of the area was met with negative results. R/O observed the Suspect face to face with the complainant in a verbal altercation. The Suspect then pushed the complainant. Upon arrival, the Complainant informed R/O they went to retrieve a camcorder from their office storage closet and discovered it was missing along with several memory cards and charging cables. The camcorder was last seen January 3, 2023. A search of the area was met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. (bg) | |
| TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS | 01:33:00 | 230116000079 | R/O responded to Washington Avenue and C Street SW for a report of a traffic accident involving a single vehicle. Upon arrival, R/O identified the Suspect as the driver of the vehicle. While standing next to the Suspect, R/O detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath and person. SFSTs were conducted, and due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. (eh) | |

R/O initiated a traffic stop at that same location. Upon approach, R/O detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle. R/O conducted a WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle through USCP Communications, which confirmed the vehicle stolen. R/O and A/O conducted a traffic stop in the 1100 Block of North Capitol Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicles tag confirmed the registration was expired and the Suspect's District of Columbia driver's license had been suspended.
