The Complainant advised R/O they parked their vehicle at the same location at 1330 hours and at 2200 hours when they returned to the vehicle, they noticed that the rear Maryland License Plate was missing from the vehicle. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 300 Block of Third Street NW. During the stop, R/O observed that the vehicle's ignition switch appeared to be tampered with, and allowed operation without a key. The Suspect was unable to provide a physical driver's license. A WALES/NCIC search of the Suspect, and the vehicle, revealed no valid permit on file in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia, and a confirmed stolen status out of New York for the vehicle. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded, and processed the scene. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. | |
