FAILURE TO OBEY POLICE OFFICER + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: CARRYING A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS UNREG FIREARM - MISD UNREG AMMO - MISD 00:27:00 230827001990 R/O was traveling eastbound in the Unit Block of M Street SE when he heard a loud bang consistent with a vehicle collision. As R/O responded to investigate, R/O observed the Suspect exit the vehicle from the driver seat and walk away from the vehicle collision. R/O ran after the Suspect and gave loud verbal commands to stop near 14 M Street SE, in which the Suspect did not comply. During the foot pursuit, R/O simultaneously heard the sound of a loud clank consistent with that of a metal object striking concrete. R/O gave loud verbal commands again informing the Suspect to stop, where the Suspect was detained with the assistance of Metropolitan Police Officers. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath. R/O located a fully functional black handgun and a magazine with four (4) rounds on the ground in the path of the foot pursuit. CSS responded and processed the scene. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. While in processing, A/O responded to conduct SFSTs. The A/Os observations were consistent with the Suspect being impaired.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY - $1000+ - FELONY 09:59:00 230825001980 R/O responded to the 300 Block of Second Street for a destruction of property report. Once on the scene, the Complainant stated to R/O an unknown Suspect smashed the passenger side window and destroyed the ignition of their vehicle while parked at the same location. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
UUV - FELONY + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY - $1000 & OVER - FELONY 16:06:00 230825001972 R/O observed a vehicle matching the description of a stolen vehicle traveling northbound in the 800 Block of North Capitol Street NE. R/O conducted a WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle through USCP Communications which confirmed the vehicle was stolen. A traffic stop was conducted in the 1500 Block of North Capitol Street NE. The Subject was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS + ADDITIONAL CHARGE: POSS OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL - VEHICLE 01:20:00 230825001966 R/O observed a vehicle operating without headlights in the 400 Block of New Jersey Avenue NW. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the same block. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspects breath. SFSTs were conducted, and due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest, and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory search of the vehicle, R/O located an open bottle of an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle console. CSS responded, and processed the scene.
THEFT II 17:00:00 230825001973 R/O responded to the Northeast Drive of the U.S. Capitol Building for the report of a theft. The Complainant reported leaving their bicycle on a bike rack at 0910 hours. The Complainant returned at 1700 hours and the bicycle gone. The USCP Command Center surveillance footage captured an unknown Suspect stealing the Complainants bicycle at 1636 hours. A canvas of the area was met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENT - HIT & RUN 08:58:00 230824001958 R/O responded to the intersection of New Jersey and Massachusetts Avenues NW for the report of a hit and run. Upon arrival, R/O spoke with the Complainant who stated a vehicle struck theirs and then fled the scene without providing any information. An immediate search of the area was met with negative results. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
SIMPLE ASSAULT DC CODE 22-404 08:35:00 230824001957 R/O responded to the steps of the U.S. Capitol Building for the report of an assault. The Complainant stated the Suspect struck them in the shoulder and chest near the area of the U.S. Capitol Building steps, and then fled the scene. A lookout was given, and the Suspect was located at the intersection of First Street and Constitution Avenue NE. CIS responded, and conducted a show-up. The Complainant positively identified the Suspect. The Suspect was placed under arrest, and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID + ADDITIONAL CHARGE: FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE 10:25:00 230824001959 R/O observed a vehicle without front or rear tags traveling in the 200 Block of Constitution Avenue NW. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of Constitution Avenue NW. A WALES/NCIC inquiry revealed the Suspect had a suspended Michigan license, with no valid permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The inquiry also confirmed the Suspect had an active, extraditable warrant out of Arlington County, Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID + ADDITIONAL CHARGE: TRAFFIC - MISUSE OF TAGS 17:07:00 230823001955 R/O observed a vehicle with heavy tint traveling westbound in the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the tags belonged to a different vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect held no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Virginia, or Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
SIMPLE ASSAULT DC CODE 22-404 12:30:00 230823001951 R/O was flagged down in the 300 Block of Seventh Street SE in reference to an assault that had just occurred. The Complainant stated that an unknown male with a knife punched them in the face while exiting the Eastern Market Metro Station before fleeing southbound on Seventh Street SE. A canvas of the area was met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
