THEFT ONE - STOLEN AUTO | 20:30:00 | 250121000193 | R/O was flagged down by the Complainant in the 1200 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE for a report of a stolen vehicle. The Complainant stated they parked their vehicle at 1248 Pennsylvania Avenue SE and went inside the establishment located at that address. Upon the Complainant's return moments later, the vehicle was missing. A canvass of the area met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. | |
CARRY PISTOL W/O LIC - FELONY + RESISTING ARREST POSS OF UNREG AMMUNITION, POSS OF UNREG FIREARM, UNLAWFUL ACTIVITIES | 14:42:00 | 250121000186 | R/O received a lookout from USCP Communications for an armed suicidal individual driving a gray vehicle bearing Massachusetts tags. R/O observed an unoccupied vehicle matching the description on the 100 Block of East Capitol Street. A MPD Firearm Detection K9 sweep resulted in a positive hit, indicating firearm parts were present in the vehicle. A subject matching the lookout was observed walking back to the vehicle and stopped. The Suspect then attempted to put his hands in his pockets and was restrained by multiple officers on scene. The Suspect resisted officers by locking his arms to his sides and was then placed in handcuffs. A firearm was recovered in a holster in the Suspect's front waistline with a magazine containing eight (8) rounds of 9mm ammunition. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS contacted the District of Columbia Gun Registration Unit, which revealed the Suspect did not possess a license to carry a firearm, or ammunition, in the District of Columbia. | |
POSSESSION OF A PROHIBITED WEAPON | 8:00:00 | 250120000169 | R/O observed the Suspect enter the Library of Congress Jefferson Building carriage entrance and place a bag through the x-ray machine. During the screening process, a knife resembling a sword appeared visible on the screen. CSS responded to process the scene and recovered the weapon from the bag. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
UNAUTHORIZED USE OF VEHICLE - FELONY + DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE- 1ST OFFENSE THEFT I (STOLEN AUTO) UNLAWFUL ENTRY | 2:13:00 | 250119000160 | R/O responded to Constitution and Louisiana Avenues NW for a report of a vehicle blocking the intersection. R/O approached the Suspect and observed the Suspect with slurred speech. The Suspect also admitted to consuming marijuana. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest. While conducting further investigation, the Metropolitan Police Department broadcasted a lookout for a stolen vehicle, which was the same vehicle the Suspect was operating. The Owner of the vehicle (Complainant) stated that they did not give the Suspect permission to operate their vehicle. The Suspect was transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE + DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - 1ST OFF THEFT FIRST DEGREE (STOLEN AUTO) UNLAWFUL ENTRY OF A MOTOR VEHICLE | 1:00:00 | 250119000160 | R/O responded to the intersection of Constitution and Louisiana Avenues NW for a report of an intoxicated driver. Additionally, the Suspect admitted to R/Os on scene that the vehicle did not belong to them. Metropolitan Police Department were investigating a stolen vehicle out of 50 Massachusetts Avenue NE (Union Station) matching the description of the Suspect vehicle. SFST's were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, the officers confiscated a glass pipe containing steel wool and white residue as well as a small pipe containing ash. | |

The Complainant stated that, while in the 1000 Block of South Capitol Street SW, a vehicle struck their vehicle and fled the scene. CSS responded to the scene. CARRYING A PISTOL W/O LIC - FELONY + RESISTING ARREST POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION POSSESTION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM UNLAWFUL ACTIVITIES | 12:15:00 | 250119000159 | R/O and A/O responded to the intersection of First Street and Louisiana Avenue NW for the report of a traffic accident. Once on the scene, R/O observed that the Suspect struck a fence barrier at that same location. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest. The Suspect admitted to having a firearm in the vehicle. CSS responded to the scene and conducted an inventory search of the vehicle. During the search, a firearm and two magazines loaded with seven (7) and six (6) rounds of .45 caliber ammunition were found. CIS contacted the District of Columbia Gun Registration Unit, which revealed the Suspect did not possess a license to carry a firearm, or ammunition, in the District of Columbia. The Suspect was transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - 1ST OFF | 19:24:00 | 250118000157 | R/O observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the 100 Block of Constitution Avenue NW that failed to stop at a red light. The vehicle continued to travel northbound in the Unit Block of Louisiana Avenue NW, where it failed to maintain its lane. A traffic stop was conducted in the 400 Block of North Capitol Street NE. Upon approach, R/O observed that the suspect's face was flushed and eyes were red. R/O detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the Suspect. SFSTs were conducted, and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
DUI-4TH OFFENSE + NO PERMIT | 0:17:00 | 250117000152 | R/O observed a vehicle make an illegal right turn at a red light in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 800 Block of North Capitol Street. Upon approach, R/O detected a strong odor of alcohol emanating from the Suspect's breath and vehicle. A WALES/NCIC revealed that the Suspect's license was suspended in Virginia with no permit status in the District of Columbia or Maryland. SFSTs were conducted by A/O. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
UNLAWFUL ENTRY INTO A BUILDING | 1:23:00 | 250117000139 | R/O responded to a report of an unauthorized person near the Basement Door of the Hart Senate Office Building. Upon arriving on scene, R/O observed an individual without congressional identification inside the building despite its closure to the general public. When directed to leave the building, the individual refused to do so. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. |
