A WALES/NCIC check revealed the tag was not on file and initiated a traffic stop in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street. Through further investigation, RO determined the tags were counterfeit. RO observed the strong odor of cannabis emitting from the vehicle. SFSTs were administered and due to multiple signs of impairment the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - SECOND OFFENSE + POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL - VEHICLE | 2:51:00 | 260103000025 | R/O observed a vehicle fail to maintain its lane and drift into the opposing lane of travel in the 200 Block of Third Street SW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of C Street SW. Upon approach, R/O could immediately smell the odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle. The Suspect's eyes appeared bloodshot and watery/glassy. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |

A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had no valid permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. R/O followed the vehicle to the 300 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE where the vehicle was observed drifting toward the curb before correcting toward the right before coming to a complete stop at the intersection of Fourth Street and Pennsylvania Avenue SE with the front wheels beyond the designated stop line. A traffic stop was conducted in the 400 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE. Upon approach, the Suspect had glassy eyes, constricted pupils, slurred speech, and spoke at a low volume. SFST'S were conducted and due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |

A WALES/NCIC inquiry through USCP Communications confirmed the vehicles stolen status. R/O conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Second Street and Massachusetts Avenue NW. The vehicle owner was contacted and denied giving permission to anyone to operate their vehicle. CSS responded to process the scene. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. |
