NO PERMIT 17:14:00 250707002245 R/O observed a vehicle proceed through a stop sign without stopping at an intersection near First and C Streets NW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. A WALES/ NCIC check of the driver revealed they had a suspended Maryland operator's permit and no permit status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
THEFT SECOND DEGREE (ALL OTHER LARCENY) 15:22:00 250707002244 R/O responded to a report of a theft that occurred at Second Street and Maryland Avenue NE. The Complainant stated they secured their scooter to a bike rack at that location earlier in the day, but they discovered it was missing upon returning to retrieve it. Initial attempts to locate the scooter met with negative results while the lock used to secure it was found on the ground nearby. CIS was advised of the offense and will continue to investigate.
FLEEING FROM A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IN A MOTOR VEHICLE + RECKLESS DRIVING 13:44:00 250706002233 R/O observed a vehicle displaying an expired registration in the 300 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A traffic stop was attempted at the same location. The Suspect initially stopped but when the R/O exited his vehicle the Suspect fled. The Suspect fled at a high rate of speed driving into oncoming traffic and failing to obey traffic control devices. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE 1:24:00 250706002231 R/O observed a vehicle traveling westbound at a high rate of speed, with its headlights off, in the 200 Block of Constitution Avenue NE. R/O initiated a traffic stop and the suspect increased the vehicle speed and ignored R/O's attempts at stopping them. The suspect finally brought the vehicle to a stop in the 200 Block of Constitution Avenue NW. A traffic stop was conducted in this same area. The Suspect was slow to respond when answering R/O's questions. A/O observed that the Suspect's eyes were bloodshot and they were wearing a blue wristband commonly associated with bars to signify legal drinking age. SFST's were administered and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT + COUNTERFEIT TAGS 21:55:00 250706002235 R/O observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE displaying what R/O recognized to be counterfeit rear tags. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed an expired DC permit, and no permit status in Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE + UNLAWFUL ENTRY RESISTING ARREST 20:27:00 250706002234 R/O observed an individual running through traffic with items stolen from a nearby store. R/O gave the Suspect multiple commands to stop, but the Suspect refused to comply. R/O attempted to detain the Suspect but the Suspect resisted. A foot pursuit ensued for two blocks. The Suspect was detained in the 800 Block of Fifth Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed an active bench warrant issued by the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. The Suspect was revealed to have an active barring notice from the store they stole from confirmed by store employees. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
CARRYING DANGEROUS WEAPON (OUTSIDE HOME OR PLACE OF BUSINESS) + POSSESSION OF PROHIBITED WEAPON ASSAULT ON A FEDERAL OFFICER (SIMPLE ASSAULT) 23:36:00 250706002230 R/O responded to a call for a Suspect with a "bowie knife" in the 500 Block of Third Street NW. Upon arrival, R/O observed the Suspect holding a large knife and making nonsensical statements. R/O and additional officers ordered the Suspect to lower their weapon, but they refused. A TASER Energy Weapon (TEW) was deployed unsuccessfully. Officers were eventually able to make the Suspect lower their weapon and they were placed in handcuffs. A/O was explaining to the Suspect what the charges were when the Suspect became combative. The Suspect kicked A/O and spit on both the A/O and R/O. CSS responded to process the scene. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
SPEEDING AND RECKLESS DRIVING + OPERATION OF ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLES AND DIRT BIKES 19:31:00 250705002226 R/O observed ATVs and dirt bikes operating recklessly in the 500 Block of North Capitol Street NW. A traffic stop was attempted, however, the group surrounded the police cruiser and then fled the area. CIS was notified.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE 16:30:00 250704002212 R/O responded to New Jersey Avenue for a report of an individual who appeared to be jiggling a door handle of a residence in the area. Upon arrival, R/O observed a male matching the description given by USCP Communications standing adjacent to the residence. A WALES/NCIC check of the individual revealed an active, warrant out of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY + RESISTING ARREST 21:15:00 250704002217 R/O observed an individual attempt to get into a secure area near the Capitol Concert. R/O conducted at stop of the individual. As R/O began to question the individual, the individual became agitated and attempted to enter the restrictive area a second time. As R/O attempted to place the individual under arrest, the individual tensed up his arms in front of his body and refused to place his hands behind his back. With the assistance of multiple officers, the Suspect was eventually placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
