NO PERMIT + ADDITIONAL CHARGE: LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS 10:38:00 240529001351 R/O observed a vehicle with an expired registration tag that travelled westbound in the Unit Block of E Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The check also confirmed the tags were associated with a different vehicle. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY $1000 OR MORE FLEEING LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER 17:31:00 240528001358 R/O received a hit on a stolen vehicle that travelled westbound on Benning Road NE. R/O located the vehicle which travelled westbound in the 300 Block of H Street NE. R/O confirmed through USCP Communications the vehicle's stolen status. R/O and A/O attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however the vehicle failed to yield, and fled westbound on K Street NE. R/O and A/O conducted a canvass of the area. R/O observed the vehicle stopped in the intersection of Third and M Streets NE. Two Suspects exited the vehicle, and fled on foot. A canvass was conducted with negative results. CSS responded and processed the vehicle. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
THEFT 1 (FROM MOTOR VEHICLE) 8:10:00 240528001350 R/O was approached by the Complainant who stated that property was stolen out of his government vehicle parked on the Northwest Drive of the U.S. Capitol Building. Further investigation revealed the Suspect was last seen traveling northbound on New Jersey Avenue NW. A canvass of the area lead to negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
ASSAULT WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: THREATS TO DO BODILY HARM - MISD 9:23:00 240527001343 R/O was approached by the Complainant in the 100 block of Second Street SW. The Complainant reported that the Suspect pointed a handgun at them and then fled the scene in a vehicle. The vehicle was last seen heading eastbound onto the ramp of Interstate 695. A canvass of the area for the Suspect was met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
BENCH WARRANT 4:00:00 240527001342 R/O performed a welfare check on the Suspect in the Unit Block of Constitution Ave NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed two active bench warrants issued by DC Superior Court. The Suspect was arrested, transported to Headquarters, and processed.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - 1ST OFFENSE + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: RECKLESS DRIVING 22:07:56 240527001347 R/O observed a vehicle traveling eastbound, at a high rate of speed, in the Unit Block of E Street NW. R/O observed the vehicle passing through a solid red light traveling northbound on North Capitol Street NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NE. SFSTs were conducted and due to many signs of impairment, the Suspect was place under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - 1ST OFFENSE 1:13:00 240527001340 R/O while assigned to a fixed post at the intersection of First Street and Constitution Avenue NW, observed a vehicle that sped through a work zone. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of First Street NW by A/O. Upon approach, R/O observed the Suspect had watery and glassy eyes, and detected a moderate odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage that emanated from the Suspect's breath. SFST's were conducted. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was arrested, transported to Headquarters, and processed.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL (POCA) 3:21:00 240527001341 R/O observed a vehicle that idled for an extended period of time in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed an expired vehicle registration. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. When R/O spoke with the driver, R/O detected a faint odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage that emanated from the vehicle. SFSTs were conducted. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was arrested, transported to Headquarters, and processed. During an inventory search of the vehicle, R/O located a cup, filled with a liquid that had an odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage, in the center console.
POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 20:32:00 240526001337 R/O observed an individual approach the screening area in the 100 Block of First Street SW, and, to be searched, place his bag on the table. As a result of the search, R/O observed a container with multiple pills, substances consistent with the shape of mushrooms, and blackish quarter sized objects. The Suspect identified the objects as marijuana edibles. The Suspect admitted the substances were present in his bag. The Suspect was arrested, transported to Headquarters, and processed. CSS responded, and took possession of the substances for further testing.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - 1ST OFFENSE 1:22:00 240526001335 R/O observed a vehicle with a malfunctioning break light, and travelled westbound in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 Bock of Washington Avenue SW. Upon approach, R/O observed the Suspect had watery glassy eyes, and heavily slurred speech. SFSTs' were conducted, and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was arrested, transported to Headquarters, and processed.
