Per the statement provided, the Suspect exited their vehicle and slapped the Complainant in the face as they attempted to cross the street on foot. The Suspect then returned to their vehicle and drove northbound on Third Street. A canvass of the area met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. | |

A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had a suspended Virginia permit, and no valid permit status in the District of Columbia or Maryland. During the course of the stop, R/O noticed the Suspect's eyes were watery and glassy. A/O subsequently responded, and conducted SFSTs which revealed multiple signs of impairment. The Suspect was arrested, transported to Headquarters, and processed. | |
