THEFT (FROM MOTOR VEHICLE) 7:15:00 240714001828 R/O was contacted in regard to a theft from a motor vehicle. The Complainant stated they parked their vehicle on the Southeast Drive of the U.S. Capitol Building at approximately 1430 hours on Saturday, July 13. Upon returning to the vehicle at approximately 0715 hours on Sunday, July 14, the Complainant noticed multiple items were missing from their vehicle. No suspects. CIS investigating.
CARRY PISTOL WITHOUT LICENSE OUTSIDE HOME/BUSINESS + POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM/UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE, POSS OF CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE - MISD 2:09:00 240714001825 R/O observed a vehicle with expired tags being driven westbound in the Unit Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 100 Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. When the Suspect attempted to insert paperwork into the glovebox, R/O observed it contained a firearm. Suspect was arrested, transported to HQ, and processed. CSS from MPD DSF responded to process the firearm. The firearm is a revolver w/five live rounds of .45 caliber ammunition. CSS discovered a clear plastic bag that contained a white, powdery substance w/the firearm in the glovebox. A/O conducted a NARK 2 Scott Reagent Modified test of the substance which tested positive for Cocaine. CIS conducted a Gun Registration check with negative results for a concealed carry permit or firearm registration in D.C.
OPERATING AFTER SUSPENSION 15:06:00 240712001821 R/O observed a vehicle with an expired tag traveling in the 100 Block of Constitution Avenue NE. R/O initiated a traffic stop in the 100 Block of Constitution Avenue NW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had a suspended license in the District of Columbia. The Suspect was arrested and transported to HQ for processing.
DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - 1ST OFFENSE + POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL - VEHICLE 0:31:00 240711001799 R/O observed a vehicle traveling N/B into oncoming traffic of the southbound lane in the 200 Block of Washington Avenue SW. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O observed that the Suspect's eyes were bloodshot and a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from their breath. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported for processing at HQ. During an inventory search of the vehicle, A/O observed an open container of an alcoholic beverage on the passenger floorboard.
THEFT SECOND DEGREE 17:00:00 240711001809 R/O responded to the 200 Block of Delaware Avenue NE for a report of a stolen electric scooter. The Complainant stated they secured their scooter to a bike rack at the same location at approximately 0900 hours. When they returned at approximately 1700 hours, the scooter was gone. A canvass of the immediate area yielded negative results. CIS investigating.
THEFT SECOND DEGREE 17:00:00 240711001810 R/O responded to the 200 Block of Delaware Avenue NE for a report of a stolen scooter. The Complainant stated they secured their scooter to a bike rack at that location at approximately 0855 hours. When they returned at approximately 1700 hours, the scooter was gone. A canvass of the immediate area yielded negative results. CIS investigating
TRAFFIC - PERMIT - OPERATING AFTER SUSPENSION 15:26:00 240710001797 R/O observed a vehicle with expired tags in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended license out of the District of Columbia, with no status in Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DEFACING GOVERNMENT PROPERTY 8:30:00 240709001771 R/O responded to the Upper Senate Park for a report of graffiti. R/O responded and found graffiti written on the south side of the fountain with what appeared to be a black Sharpie. CSS responded and processed the scene.
NO PERMIT + ALLOW OPERATION WITH IMPROPER TAGS 1:57:00 240709001767 R/O observed a vehicle without visible tags traveling eastbound in the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SW. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. Upon approach, R/O observed tags in the vehicle's rear window. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the tags were not registered to the vehicle. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed the individual had no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
THEFT II 17:30:00 240709001786 R/O responded to a report of theft in a House Office Building. Upon arrival, R/O was met by the Complainant who stated the Congressional Sign-in Book was missing. The book was described as a black hard cover booklet with a gold seal. The last confirmed sighting was on June 18, 2024 at approximately 1000 hours. A canvas of the area was met with negative results.
