Upon approach, R/O located the driver asleep at at the wheel. A traffic stop was initiated at the same location. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O detected a faint odor of alcohol emanating from the Suspect's breath. Additionally, the Suspect exhibited slurred speech and responded slowly to questions. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect's permit was revoked in DC, MD, and VA. SFSTs conducted - due to numerous signs of impairment, Suspect arrested - processed at HQ. The image on the X-ray screen displayed what appeared to be ammunition. An administrative search of the Suspect's bag revealed a magazine loaded with 6 rounds of ammunition. The crash investigation revealed suspect's vehicle was towing a trailer when it made a turn and struck a traffic control device causing damage. Suspect vehicle continued onto I-695 ramp and fled the scene. Canvass of area was negative. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS investigating. | |
