ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON - PIPE 13:30:00 250130000265 R/O responded to a report of an assault near Third Street and Massachusetts Avenue NE. The Complainant stated the Suspect struck them in the leg with a metal pipe after an extended argument. The Suspect was subsequently located at Third and E Streets NE. After a brief foot pursuit, the Suspect was detained at Third and F Streets NE. A nearby witness stated they observed the Suspect chasing after the Complainant in an attempt to strike them with a pipe and then drop the pipe at Third and D Streets NE, where it was subsequently recovered by officers on scene. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CIS responded to conduct interviews while CSS responded to process the scene.
CROWDING, OBSTRUCTING OR INCOMMODING 10:23:00 250129000255 R/O responded to Room SDG-50 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building for the report of demonstrating. The Suspects were observed screaming to disrupt and halt the congressional proceeding. The Suspects were given warnings to cease and desist their demonstration activities, but failed to stop. The Suspects were placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 15:46:00 250129000259 R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the 300 Block of Independence Avenue SW with an expired registration. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the same location. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect did not possess a valid driver's permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
POSS PROHIBITED WEAPON - OTHER 2:00:00 250129000250 R/O observed a bicycle with a package fastened to it, as well as a large, insulated bag draped over the top of it, at the intersection of First Street and Maryland Avenue NE. R/O canvassed the area in search of the owner but met with negative results. To ensure the package did not pose a threat to the surrounding people and property, R/O inspected it further. Upon doing so, R/O discovered a black hatchet with a green cord handle. R/O conducted a second canvass with an extended search area and made contact with the owner of the bicycle. The individual stated the hatchet was for self-defense purposes. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded to process the scene.
CROWDING, OBSTRUCTING OR INCOMMODING 13:20:00 250129000258 R/O responded to Room SDG-50 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building for the report of demonstrating. DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS + POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL 19:41:00 250128000246 R/O observed a vehicle displaying what appeared to be an expired registration turn through the intersection at North Capitol and E Streets without using a turn signal. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. During the course of the stop, R/O detected a strong odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle. SFSTs were administered. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. Multiple bottles containing a liquid consistent with an alcoholic beverage found during search search of the vehicle.
NO PERMIT +ALLOW OPERATION W/IMPROPER TAGS 0:06:00 250128000238 R/Os observed a vehicle with a tail light out in the Unit Bock of Columbus Circle NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the tag returned to a different vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarter for processing.
DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE-1ST OFF + NO PERMIT FAIL TO EXHIBIT LICENSE 16:28:00 250128000244 R/O observed a vehicle displaying expired Maryland tags travelling through the Unit Block of H Street NW. A traffic stop was conducted at the intersection of North Capitol and G Streets. When asked for their operator's permit, the driver stated they did not have one on them. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the driver had a cancelled District of Columbia operator's permit and no permit status in Maryland or Virginia. During the course of the stop, R/O detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. SFSTs were administered. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT + LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMP TAGS, CARRY PISTOL W/OUT LICENSE, POSS OF UNREG AMMUNITION, POSS OF UNREG FIREARM/UNLAWFUL, POSS OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE, POSS PROHIBITED WEAPON 21:27:00 250128000249 R/O observed a vehicle fail to maintain its lane of travel while driving through the Unit Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. A traffic stop was conducted at the intersection of New Jersey Avenue and D Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the driver had no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. Further investigation revealed the vehicle was purchased in Laurel, Maryland, through Facebook Marketplace, and the temporary Georgia tag affixed to vehicle came with it. The Suspect was subsequently placed under arrest. During the search incident to arrest, a handgun was discovered in the Suspect's waistband. CSS responded to process the scene. Further inspection of the handgun revealed it had no identifying marks other than a single serial number that appeared to be etched by hand with an engraving tool. CIS verified through the Metropolitan Police Department's Gun Registration Unit that the Suspect had no license to carry a firearm in the District of Columbia nor was the firearm properly registered. The Suspect was transported to Headquarters for processing.
FLEEING FROM A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IN A MOTOR VEHICLE 2:31:00 250127000229 R/O observed a vehicle driving with one operable headlight in the 400 Block of South Capitol Street SW. R/O then observed the vehicle turn without stopping through a solid red light at the intersection of South Capitol and M Streets SW. R/O attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle accelerated away at a high rate of speed and proceeded to drive through multiple solid red lights without caution. The vehicle was last seen driving westbound entering the 400 Block of M Street SW. Shortly thereafter, the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia informed the USCP that the vehicle was involved in an accident and the driver was arrested on multiple charges, to include Reckless Driving, Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol, and No Permit. CIS will continue to investigate.
