DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - 1ST OFF 04:18:00 240519001255 ADDITIONAL CHARGES: NO PERMIT POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL - VEHICLE Officer Linares (SD-1) was flagged down in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NW for a vehicle with an individual slumped over in the driver's seat. After waking the Suspect, R/O observed their speech to be slurred. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had a suspended driver's license out of Maryland, with no status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. Assisting Officer Cruz (SOD-2) responded to conduct SFSTs, and detected a moderate smell of alcohol emitting from the Suspect's breath. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was arrested and transported to HQ for processing. During an inventory search of the vehicle, R/O located an open bottle of an alcoholic beverage on the front passenger seat. (ks)
DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - 1ST OFF 02:50:00 240519001254 ADDITIONAL CHARGE: POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL - VEHICLE Officer Carll (SOD-1) observed a vehicle travelling on the wrong side of the road in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of D Street NW. While conversing with the Suspect, R/O detected a faint odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from their breath. SFSTs were conducted, and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory search of the vehicle, R/O located an open bottle of an alcoholic beverage under the front passenger seat. (ks)
LEAVING AFTER COLLIDING - PROPERTY DAMAGE 21:38:00 240518001252 Officer Carll (SOD-1) was flagged down in the Unit Block of H Street NW for a report of a hit and run. The Complainants stated a vehicle struck their stationary vehicle at the intersection of North Capitol and H Streets NW. The Suspect's vehicle then fled the scene. A canvass of the immediate area was met with negative results. Technician Paines (CSS) responded and processed the scene. Special Agent O’Neill (CIS) was notified and will continue to investigate. DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - FIRST OFFENSE 03:12:00 240518001241 Officer Carll (SOD-3) observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE disobeying a turn only lane sign. The vehicle then straddled lanes in the 100 and 300 Blocks of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 Block of Maryland Avenue NE. R/O approached the Suspect and detected a mild odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating form the Suspect’s breath. SFST’s were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. (eb)
NO PERMIT 15:15:00 240518001247 Officer Sutcliffe (SOD-2) responded to a traffic accident in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SE. The driver of the striking vehicle was unable to provide R/O with a driver's license. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had no valid permit and no status in Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. (dp/ks)
NO PERMIT 23:55:00 240519001253 ADDITIONAL CHARGE: LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS Officer Corrigan (SOD-1) observed a vehicle traveling in the 500 Block of North Capitol Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle revealed the tags belonged to another vehicle. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of H Street NE. The Suspect was unable to provide R/O with a driver's license. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. (rr)
UNLAWFUL CONDUCT CAPITOL GROUNDS 16:48:00 240517001239 Officer Adjei (HD-3) responded to the Rayburn House Office Building, Room 2172, for a group of individuals demonstrating and disrupting a committee hearing. The committee staff requested the Suspects be removed. The Suspects were placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. (dp)
CROWDING, OBSTRUCTING, OR INCOMMODING 13:14:00 240516001221 Officer Redmond (FRU-2) observed a Suspect protesting in a restricted area of the U.S. Capitol Building. The Suspect was given a warning to cease, but continued to demonstrate. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. (dp)
LEAVING AFTER COLLIDING - PROPERTY DAMAGE 17:13:00 240515001210 Officer Carll (SOD-3) while on patrol responded to the Unit Block of E Street NE for the report of a hit and run. Upon arrival, the Complainant stated that their vehicle was parked in the Lot around 0615 hours next to a blue vehicle and when they returned at 1710 hours there was damage to the front passenger bumper area. Technician Schuster (CSS) responded and processed the scene. R/O conducted a canvas for camera footage and located the vehicle and the Suspect exit the parking lot. They were last seen heading eastbound on E Street NE. Special Agent O'Neill (CIS) was notified and will continue to investigate. (dw)
POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 12:55:00 240515001197 Officer Schwalm (SOD-2) observed a clear plastic bag containing a white powdery substance outside of a room located inside the USCP Headquarters Building. Technician Schuster (CSS) responded and processed the scene. Technician Day (HMRT) conducted a field test of the white powdery substance, which tested positive for Cocaine. Special Agent Larity (CIS) responded and will continue to investigate. (dw)
