| POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM, POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION | 11:13:00 | 251003003166 | R/O-1 and R/O-2 responded to the 2000 Block of Bladensburg Road NE for the report of a gun found in a vehicle. The vehicle was found abandoned in the intersection of Washington Avenue and D Street SW and towed by Always Towing. While conducting a search of the vehicle, a tow company employee discovered the handgun. CSS recovered a semi-automatic handgun loaded with a twelve round magazine containing eleven rounds of 9mm ammunition. Two empty twelve round magazines were also recovered. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. | |
| FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE, POSSESSION PROHIBITED WEAPON | 12:30:00 | 251002003159 | R/O observed an individual smoking a green, leafy substance in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE. When directly asked, the individual stated the substance was marijuana. A stop was immediately initiated at the same location, and A/O-1 responded to assist. A WALES/NCIC check of the individual revealed they were subject to an active, extraditable warrant issued out of New York City, New York. Once Communications confirmed the warrant, the Suspect was placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest led to the discovery of what appeared to be brass knuckles amongst the Suspect's belongings. The Suspect was subsequently transported to Headquarters for processing. A/O-2 responded to process the scene, and S/A was advised of the offense. | |

A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended Virginia permit, with no driving status in the District of Columbia or Maryland. A subject stop was immediately initiated, and A/O responded to assist. Further investigation revealed the individual threatened three (3) different officers with bodily harm while traversing the area near the Senate Park. One such threat involved the individual stating, "I will shoot you in the face." Furthermore, the individual spit towards one of the officers, which required them to take evasive action in order to avoid being struck. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. S/A-1 and S/A-2 were advised of the offense. | |
