FLEEING A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER - FELONY | 18:02:00 | 250620002027 | R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the Unit Block of First Street NW, failure to yield right of way to pedestrians in the crosswalk at Garfield Circle SW. As R/O attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the Suspect fled. The Suspect drove through the intersection at Third Street and Maryland Avenue and SW and continued westbound on Independence Ave SW. At which time the R/O lost sight of the vehicle. Approximately thirty minutes later, R/O observed the same vehicle, traveling eastbound in the Unit Block of E Street NE, swerving into oncoming traffic and passing through a red traffic signal at Second and Massachusetts Avenue NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of D Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had a suspended commercial license out of Maryland with no status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
CROWDING OBSTRUCTING INCOMMODING | 11:42:00 | 250620002023 | R/O observed several individuals chanting loudly and blocking vehicular traffic by sitting in the intersection at First and East Capitol Street NE. The individuals were given warnings to cease and desist their demonstration activity but failed to comply. The Suspects were placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
THEFT SECOND DEGREE | 10:45:00 | 250617001995 | R/O responded to Bartholdi Park for a report of a theft. The Complainant stated they left the location at 0945 hours and upon returning at 1045 hours they observed a plant missing from the area. All attempts to locate the Suspect and property were met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. | |
THEFT FIRST DEGREE | 9:00:00 | 250618002012 | R/O responded to a Senate Office Building for the report of a theft. Upon arrival, the Complainant stated a credit card, debit card, and six dollars were missing from her purse. These items were last seen at approximately 0900 hours on June 17, 2025.CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. | |

The Complainant stated they left their office at 1900 hours on June 13, 2025 and upon returning in the morning on June 16, 2025, a poster was missing outside the office. The Complainant stated an individual removed a cart out the west service door and were last seen pushing the cart north on Third Street at Independence Avenue SW. All attempts to locate the Suspect and property were met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. | |

The Suspect was detained in the same location. A WALES\NCIC check revealed two active warrants issued by the DC Superior Court. During the investigation, a WALES/NCIC check of both drivers revealed the driver of vehicle 2 did not possess a valid license in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed a suspended Maryland and Virginia permit with no status in the District of Columbia.
