NO PERMIT 17:34:00 260426001333 R/O observed a vehicle with an expired registration in the intersection of South Capitol and E Streets SW. A WALES/NCIC check of the tag revealed an expired registration. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of K Street SW. Additionally, a WALES/NCIC check revealed a suspended or revoked status in California with no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT + ALTERED TAGS 17:50:00 260425001326 R/O observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 100 Block of Third Street NW bearing an altered tag. The last digit of the tag was covered with black tape. RO conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of Third Street SW. A WALES/NCIC check of the tag was performed once the tape was removed and revealed a valid registration. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no valid driving status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE 1ST OFF 3:16:00 260425001323 R/O observed a vehicle make multiple traffic infractions at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and North Capitol Street NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NE. Upon approach, R/O could detect a moderate odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. R/O observed the Suspects eyes to be watery and glassy. R/O also observed a small clear/blue cup with a small amount of clear liquid in the center console cup holder. Due to suspicion of impairment, SFSTs were conducted. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE 19:45:00 260425001327 R/O observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle revealed that the tags were expired. RO conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. While speaking with the Suspect, RO detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. SFSTs were conducted and due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS + POSS OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL-VEHICLE RESISTING ARREST ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER - MISDEMEANOR 21:19:00 260425001329 R/O responded to the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SE for an unconscious driver. During the investigation, RO detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle and breath of the Suspect and observed a container with the labeling of an alcoholic beverage. RO ordered the Suspect out of the vehicle. After failing to comply multiple times, officers removed the Suspect from the vehicle. The suspect physically resisted officers as they applied handcuffs. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE (OUTSIDE HOME OR PLACE OF BUSINESS) + POSS. OF UNREG. FIREARM/UNLAWFUL POSS. OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE, POSS. OF UNREG. AMMUNITION DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE 1ST OFF 1:37:00 260425001321 R/O observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and make multiple infractions in the 100 Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. A traffic stop was initiated in the 800 Block of North Capitol Street NE. Upon approach, R/O observed the Suspect eyes were glassy, bloodshot red and slurred speech. R/O also detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspects person. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. The Suspect alerted R/O of two magazines and a 40-caliber gun in the center console. R/O inspected the center console and observed the grip of a pistol wrapped in a belly band. R/O stopped the inventory search and called for Crime Scene. CSS responded and processed the scene. CID was notified. The recovered firearm was described as a black 40 caliber Beretta APX handgun. One 10-round magazine was inserted into the handgun, loaded with nine live rounds of 40 caliber ammunition. Two additional magazines contained 10 rounds and 7 rounds .40 S&W. A query through MPD Gun Registration Unit confirm the Suspect did not maintain a license to carry and the gun was not registered in the District of Columbia.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE 0:37:00 260424001308 R/O observed a vehicle run through a solid red light at the intersection of North Capitol Street and Louisiana Avenue NW. The Suspect failed to maintain their lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. Upon approach, R/O detected a strong odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect. R/O observed the Suspect's flushed face, eyes were bloodshot red and had slurred speech. SFST's were administered and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
RECKLESS DRIVING - MISDEMEANOR 19:05:00 260424001316 R/O-1 and A/O observed a vehicle travelling in the 100 Block of First Street SE turn left onto Independence Avenue SE against a red light. R/O and A/O continued to follow and observed the vehicle make an improper U-turn crossing double yellow lines in the 100 Block of Constitution Avenue NE and then drive in the wrong direction into the 100 Block of Maryland Avenue NE. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT + LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS 15:07:00 260424001313 R/O observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 100 Block of Third Street SW changing lanes without signaling. R/O conducted a WALES/NCIC check on the tags which revealed a different vehicle registration. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of Washington Avenue SW. A WALES/NCIC check on the Suspect revealed no valid permit in Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE 17:13:00 260423001303 R/O observed an individual selling water on Capitol Grounds at the intersection of Third Street and Maryland Avenue SW. A stop was conducted at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed an active warrant for second-degree assault out of Prince Georges County Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
