LEAVING AFTER COLLIDING - PROPERTY DAMAGE 18:03:00 2.50406E+11 R/O responded to a report of a traffic accident at the intersection of First Street and Maryland Avenue SW. Upon arrival, R/O found an individual who stated they were struck by a gray SUV as they were riding a bicycle in the roadway, which caused them to fall onto the ground. The driver of the SUV initially stopped after the accident but left the scene without engaging the fallen cyclist. CIS was advised of the offense and will continue to investigate.
POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 3:05:00 2.50406E+11 R/O was flagged down by a citizen in the Unit Block of H Street NW. The individual, a driver for hire, stated a previous passenger left a large bag containing what appeared to be drugs in their vehicle. Upon inspecting the contents of the bag, R/O observed various substances packed in clear, plastic bags and small bottles. CSS responded to test the different items, which were positive for marijuana, cocaine, fentanyl, and other illicit substances. CIS was advised of the offense and will continue to investigate.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY - LESS THAN $1000 + THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS OR ACCESSORIES 17:59:00 2.50406E+11 R/O was flagged down by a citizen in the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. The individual stated they parked their vehicle at that location earlier in the day and, upon returning, discovered one the vehicle's windshield wiper blades had been broken. Further inspection revealed the vehicle's original windshield wiper blades had been stolen and haphazardly replaced with others. While on scene, R/O found that one of the wiper blades was detached from the vehicle with clear signs of damage while the other wiper blade was attached to the vehicle using prominent modifications. CIS will continue to investigate.
DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE-1ST OFFENCE 5:11:00 2.50405E+11 R/O responded to a report of a possible vehicle crash in the I-395 Third Street Tunnel. R/O located the vehicle on the Southbound off-ramp of I-395 exiting the Third Street Tunnel. R/O observed the Suspect's balance was unsteady, and may have been under the influence. SFSTs were conducted. Due to multiple signs of impairment, Suspect arrested. Transported to HQ for processing. CSS processed the scene.
TRAFFIC - RECKLESS DRIVING +FLEEING FROM A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IN A MOTOR VEHICLE 19:05:00 2.50405E+11 R/O observed a vehicle matching a lookout issued by MPD, traveling southbound through the intersection of Eighth Street and Maryland Avenue NE. R/O witnessed the vehicle almost collide with another vehicle at that same intersection. R/O caught up to the vehicle in the 200 Block of Eighth Street NE and confirmed that this vehicle's tags matched the lookout. R/O attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the vehicle fled the scene. The vehicle was traveling in excess of 20-40 miles per hour over the speed limit. All attempts to locate the vehicle met with negative results.
CONSUMPTION OF MARIJUANA IN PUBLIC SPACE PROHIBITED 11:14:00 2.50404E+11 R/O observed a suspect smoking marijuana in the 500 Block of First Street NE. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. Crime scene tested a bag of a green leafy substance found during the search of the Suspect and it came back with a presumptive positive for THC.
UNREGISTERED AMMO 15:16:00 2.50404E+11 R/O observed a possible prohibited weapon in the X-ray machine at the North Door of the U.S. Capitol Police HQ. R/O conducted an administrative search of the Suspect's property and recovered a magazine containing ten rounds of ammunition. Suspect was placed under arrest and processed at HQ. CSS processed the scene. CIS interviewed Suspect.
NO PERMIT 16:57:00 2.50403E+11 R/O observed a vehicle driving with an expired registration in the Unit Block of Canal Street SE. R/O conducted a tag check and confirmed the registration was expired. A traffic stop was conducted in the 600 Block of South Capitol Street SW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed an expired driving status in Maryland with no valid status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was arrested and transported to Headquarters for processing.
LEAVING AFTER COLLIDING 14:00:00 2.50403E+11 R/O responded to the 400 Block of South Capitol Street SW for a report of a hit and run. The Complainant stated the incident occurred earlier in the day in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE, where their vehicle was struck by the Suspect's vehicle. When the Complainant stopped to exchange information, the Suspect fled the scene. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 4:14:00 2.50403E+11 R/O responded to check on the welfare of a driver in the 200 Block of Washington Avenue SW. Upon arrival, R/O located a vehicle with the driver unconscious behind the wheel, and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the open window. A/O shook the driver's shoulder and the Suspect awoke. R/O observed the Suspect speaking in a slurred manner. SFSTs were conducted. Due to signs of impairment, the Suspect was arrested and transported to HQ for processing.
