UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE + UNLAWFUL ENTRY OF A MOTOR VEHICLE RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY $1,000 OR MORE 18:10:00 260101000004 R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the 1100 Block of South Capitol Street SE that matched a lookout for a stolen vehicle. A WALES/NCIC inquiry through USCP Communications confirmed the vehicles stolen status. R/O conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Second Street and Massachusetts Avenue NW. The vehicle owner was contacted and denied giving permission to anyone to operate their vehicle. CSS responded to process the scene. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS + POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL 1:07:00 260101000001 R/O was operating a marked cruiser and was stopped at a red light at the intersection of South Capitol and M Street SW. When the light turned green, R/O continued south when a vehicle in the left turn only lane also continued straight and cut off the cruiser. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of N Street SW. Upon approach of the vehicle, R/O detected an odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage emitting from the driver's side window. R/O also noted that the Suspect had glassy eyes and they had admitted that they threw out a cup of tequila from the window before the stop. SFSTs were administered and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During the vehicle inventory, R/O observed 2 open containers that had odors consistent with alcoholic beverages in the vehicle.
ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER 4:00:00 260101000003 R/O responded to the 1000 Block of First Street, NE, to assist with a traffic stop. While SFSTs were being conducted on the driver of the vehicle, the passenger stepped out of the vehicle and became aggressive. The Suspect was screaming and refused to get back into the vehicle when ordered to do so. The Suspect pushed the R/O, then pulled away and attempted to drive her shoulder into the R/O while being placed under arrest. The Suspect was subsequently transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 19:24:00 251231003852 R/O observed a vehicle driving slowly with a flat tire in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SE. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SE. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver through USCP Communications revealed no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS, COUNTERFEIT TAGS 21:44:00 251230003842 R/O and A/O observed a vehicle with what appeared to be fictitious Maryland temporary tags traveling in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the tags revealed there was no record of them on file. A traffic stop was conducted in the 700 Block of North Capitol Street NE. During the course of the stop, the driver disclosed they purchased the tags from an unauthorized vendor knowing they did not belong on their vehicle. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL - VEHICLE 17:18:00 251231003850 R/O while on a fixed post conducted an administrative search of a vehicle in the intersection of Washington Avenue and C Street SW. During the course of the search, R/O located a 3/4 empty bottle consistent with an alcoholic beverage under the drivers seat. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. A/O responded and processed the scene. S/A was notified.
NO PERMIT, DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - FIRST OFFENSE 18:35:00 251231003852 R/O observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SW with no running headlights. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a surrendered DC permit with no status in Virginia or Maryland. While the Suspect exited the vehicle, the Suspect moved slowly and braced himself on the door. R/O also detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath. SFST's were administered and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 16:50:00 251231003849 R/O observed a vehicle with an expired registration in the 600 Block of New Jersey Avenue NW. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 500 Block of New Jersey Avenue NW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the driver had a suspended license out of Virginia and no status in the District of Columbia or Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 4:40:00 251230003830 R/O observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 200 Block of E Street SW with no vehicle lights illuminated. A traffic stop was conducted in the same location. A WALES/NCIC inquiry revealed the driver did not possess a valid operator's permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 18:00:00 251230003840 R/O observed a vehicle with expired tags traveling in the 200 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed they had a suspended Maryland operator's permit with no permit status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
