DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE + NO PERMIT POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL - VEHICLE 0:27:00 260506001447 R/O observed a vehicle traveling southbound committing several traffic violations in the 500 block of North Capitol Street NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 800 block of North Capitol Street NE. While speaking with the Suspect, the R/O detected a moderate odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspects breath. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended license out of Louisiana, with no status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. SFSTs were administered, and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During a search inventory of the vehicle, two 50 ml bottles of bourbon whiskey were found in the center console.
NO PERMIT 16:28:00 260506001462 R/O observed a vehicle with a tinted license plate cover at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and E Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the tag revealed an expired registration. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE. Additionally, a WALES/NCIC check revealed a suspended status in District of Columbia with no permit status in Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
CARRY. A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE + UNLAWFUL ENTRY, RESIST. ARREST, TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE, POSS. OF UNREG. AMMO, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY LESS THAN $1000 X 2, POSS. OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE - MISD, POSS. WITH INTENT TO DIST. A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE , ETC. 12:52:00 260506001454 R/O with assistance from A/O-1 and A/O-2 responded to a call for a burglary in progress in the 1100 Block of First Street SE. R/O observed an individual that appeared agitated and sweating profusely standing outside the elevator. The individual stated they, "didn't do anything" and began to run. R/O gave verbal commands to stop, but the Suspect continued to flee. The Suspect continued to resist arrest once apprehended by refusing to place his hands behind his back and pulling away from officers. R/O frisked the Suspect and observed a small digital scale on his person as well as an object consistent with a firearm in the Suspect's waistband. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded to process the scene and discovered the firearm had a ten round magazine containing six rounds and one in the chamber. The Suspect also had a clear bag on them. CSS responded to collect the evidence. The bag contained twenty individually sealed capsules each containing a white rock-like substance, Testing revealed that the substance was cocaine-based.
PERMIT SUSPENDED-OAS 18:25:00 260505001444 R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the 300 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE with an expired registration. A traffic stop was conducted in the 400 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed a suspended license out of the District of Columbia with no status in Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT + USE OF UNIDENTIFIED VEHICLE UNLAWFUL DISPLAY OF TAGS 20:09:00 260505001446 R/O observed a vehicle traveling northbound, in the 200 Block of Washington Avenue SW passing through a solid red light with no displayed registration. A traffic stop was conducted at the intersection of Third Street and Independence Avenue SW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed a cancelled registration out of Florida with the Suspect having no valid license in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
SIMPLE ASSAULT 9:24:00 260505001438 R/O-1 and R/O-2 were approached near the Capitol South Metro Station by an individual who claimed to have been purposefully pushed while riding the metro train. The Complainant directed the officers to the person who committed the assault, who was walking nearby. A subject stop was subsequently initiated near Upper D Park located at 51 C Street SE. Once positively identified, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 21:23:00 260504001434 R/O observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Independence Avenue SE with an obstructed rear tag. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 200 Block of Independence Avenue SE. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed an expired Maryland driver's license, with no driving status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
UNLAWFUL ACTIVITIES 12:08:00 260504001425 R/O observed an individual sitting outside of the South entrance of the Capitol Visitor Center displaying what appeared to be a handgun underneath their blazer. R/O made contact with the individual and confirmed the individual was armed. Further investigation revealed the individual had a concealed carry permit. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS conducted a custodial interview of the Suspect.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE + POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL 20:37:00 260504001432 R/O observed a vehicle traveling southbound on the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NW with the front left tire completely flat. The vehicle stopped at the intersection of First and Columbus Circle NE where R/O conducted a traffic stop. While conversing with the driver, R/O observed an open container of a Heineken beer in the center console. R/O also noticed the driver was slow to respond, their eyes were droopy, and their speech was slurred. SFSTs were administered and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE 16:05:00 260504001428 R/O observed a vehicle parked in the crosswalk in the Unit Block of Third Street SW with the hood up and displaying an expired registration. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle confirmed the expired registration. R/O made contact with the driver at the same location. While waiting for a tow, R/O asked the driver if there were any weapons in the vehicle. The driver responded in the affirmative. A search of the vehicle revealed a firearm with a magazine feeding device loaded with twelve rounds of ammunition inside a cross-body bag. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS & PSB-ID conducted a custodial interview of the Suspect. An inquiry through the Metropolitan Police Department Gun Registration Unit revealed the Suspect did not possess a license to carry a firearm or ammunition in the District of Columbia.
