| RECKLESS DRIVING | 11:09:00 | 260121000189 | R/O observed a vehicle accelerate through the red light at the intersection of North Capitol and H Street NE. RO observed the vehicle pass through the red light at H Street and New Jersey Avenue NW. He then proceeded to travel into oncoming traffic. RO then lost visual contact with the vehicle. A canvas of the area was conducted but with negative results. CIS notified. | |

A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. While conversing with the driver, R/O smelled a strong odor of cannabis emanating from inside the vehicle. SFSTs were administered and due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| THEFT SECOND DEGREE | 12:51:00 | 260120000181 | R/O responded a report of a theft in progress at an establishment in the Unit Block of I Street SE. While responding to the scene, the Complainant flagged down R/O in the Unit Block of L Street SE and provided a description of the Suspect. R/O observed the Suspect running into an alley in the Unit Block of I Street SE where the Suspect was subsequently detained. Video footage from the establishment showed the Suspect leave the establishment with merchandise in hand without rendering payment. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. | |

Upon approach of the vehicle, RO observed multiple cans of what appeared to be alcoholic beverages hanging from the gear shifter of the vehicle. When the Suspect was asked to step out of the vehicle, RO could smell a moderate odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath. During an inventory of the vehicle, several open containers of alcohol were found. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
