CPWL - CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE + POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION TRAFFIC - MISUSE OF TAGS POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL 16:32:00 250812002647 R/O observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SW, displaying an expired tag. A traffic stop was conducted in the same area. The WALES/NCIC check revealed the tags were expired. Upon approach, R/O noticed what appeared to be two open containers, with a dark liquid and smell consistent of an alcoholic beverage in the back seat of the vehicle. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During the inventory search of the vehicle, a .22LR revolver with five loaded rounds was discovered in the trunk. CIS was notified and processed the scene. The MPD Gun Registration Unit confirmed the firearm is not registered and the Suspect did not possess or maintain a license to carry a firearm in the District of Columbia.
LEAVING AFTER COLLIDING 9:49:00 250812002644 R/O-1 - 3 attempted to conduct a felony stop on a confirmed stolen vehicle in the 200 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NW. Upon initiation of the traffic stop, the vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed and fled westbound, striking multiple other vehicles. A canvass for the vehicle was met with negative results.
PERMIT REVOKED - OAR 2:05:00 250812002641 R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the 400 Block of H Street NE with an expired tag. A WALES/NCIC inquiry confirmed the expired status. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of H Street NW. A WALES/NCIC of the driver revealed a revoked District of Columbia operators permit and no valid status in Maryland or Virginia.
THEFT SECOND DEGREE 8:25:00 250812002643 R/O was approached in a House Office Building for the report of a theft. The Complainant stated a 70 inch television was stolen from an area near a room between August 6th and August 11th. A canvass of the area was met with negative results.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS + LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS FAIL TO OBEY OFFICER RESISTING ARREST 17:19:00 250811002636 R/O observed a vehicle with no front tag at the intersection of First Street and New Jersey Avenue NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicles rear tag revealed the tag belonged to different vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE. R/O noticed the driver exhibited signs of impairment. While conducting SFSTs, the driver refused to complete the tests. While R/O attempted to place the Suspect under arrest, the Suspect ran and ignored commands to stop. The Suspect was subsequently apprehended in the 600 Block of First Street NE. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 0:01:00 250811002624 R/O observed a vehicle make an illegal U-Turn in the Unit Block of Third Street SW. A traffic stop was subsequently initiated at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed their Virginia operator's permit was suspended and they had no permit status in the District of Columbia or Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
THEFT (THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS OR ACCESSORIES) 15:03:00 250811002631 R/O was in the 200 Block of New Jersey Avenue NW when they were approached by a Complainant that wanted to report a theft. The Complainant stated they parked their vehicle on a lot at that same location on Friday, August 8. Upon returning to the vehicle on August 11, the Complainant noticed the front license plate was missing off the vehicle. A canvass of the immediate area was met with negative results.
THEFT (THEFT FROM BUILDING) 16:00:00 250811002638 R/O was in a House Office Building when the Complainant approached them and wanted to report a theft. The Complainant stated they placed their wallet in the locker room at the beginning of their work shift and when they returned at the end of their shift the wallet was gone. A canvass of the immediate area was met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
NO PERMIT + LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS 18:56:00 250811002639 R/O observed a vehicle with a non-functioning brake light traveling eastbound in the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 Block of Fourth Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle temporary tag revealed the tag belonged to a different vehicle. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed a suspended Virginia operators permit and no valid permit status in the District of Columbia or Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
FAILURE TO APPEAR 11:48:00 250810002621 R/O-1 and R/O-2 observed an individual removing portions of a plant near the United States Botanic Garden Conservatory in the 100 Block of Maryland Avenue SW. A subject stop was subsequently initiated at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the individual revealed they were subject to an active bench warrant issued through the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Once the warrant was confirmed by Communications, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
