The Complainant stated that the Suspect was issued an iPad with an asset tag affixed when hired. Upon termination, the Suspect returned a different iPad with the asset tag affixed. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed a suspended license out of Maryland and no driving status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was arrested and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE-1ST OFF + POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL - VEHICLE | 0:19:00 | 250721002431 | R/O observed an unconscious individual behind the wheel of a parked vehicle with it's driver's side door fully open in the Unit Block of D Street NW. R/O initiated a welfare check and immediately detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from within the vehicle. Upon waking the occupant, R/O noticed their speech was slurred and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from their breath. During the course of conversing with R/O, the occupant admitted to having just driven from Maryland. SFSTs were then administered. Due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. An open can containing a liquid with characteristics consistent with an alcoholic beverage was located in the center console during a subsequent inventory search of the vehicle. | |
| POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL - VEHICLE + FAILURE TO EXHIBIT LICENSE | 20:56:00 | 250719002428 | R/O observed a vehicle parked improperly in the 200 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue NW. The vehicle matched the description of a vehicle that had fled from an assault with a knife in the 400 Block of New Jersey Avenue NW. The vehicle pulled out of the parking space and made a U-turn to travel westbound in the 200 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue NW. The vehicle proceeded through a solid red light at the intersection of 3rd and Pennsylvania Avenue NW. A/O initiated a traffic stop in the 100 Block of Third Street SW. The Suspect became argumentative and failed to follow instructions from A/O. The Suspect failed to provide any identifiable information. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During inventory of the vehicle, a half full clear bottle of tequila was found in the back passenger seat. | |
| DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE + OPERATING AFTER REVOCATION | 4:36:00 | 250719002418 | R/O responded to the 200 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE for a report of an unconscious motorist. RO observed a vehicle driving with no running lights in the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street. A WALES/ NCIC check revealed a revoked permit status in the District of Columbia and no status in Maryland or Virginia. RO detected the strong smell of alcohol from the vehicle as well as the Suspect had heavily slurred speech. SFSTs were administered, and due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| FLEEING FROM A POLICE OFFICER - FELONY + RECKLESS DRIVING | 20:44:00 | 250719002426 | R/O observed a vehicle travel through a solid red light at the intersection of 3rd and Constitution Avenue NW. R/O attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the Unit Block of 3rd Street NW. The vehicle did not stop accelerating at a high rate of speed and was disobeying all traffic laws. The vehicle continued traveling at a high rate of speed southbound in the 300 Block of Washington Avenue SW. The vehicle disobeyed the red traffic signals at both the intersections of Washington and D Street SW and South Capitol and E Street SW. The Suspect was estimated to be traveling around 80mph and was putting multiple civilians and traffic in severe risk of injury. R/O attempted another traffic stop on the intersection of South Capitol and P Street SW. The vehicle disobeyed all commands and fled. All attempts to locate the vehicle were met with negative results. CID was notified and will continue to investigate. | |
| NO PERMIT + LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS | 17:17:00 | 250718002415 | R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the Unit Block of Constitution Avenue NW cross the top of the yellow lane line. A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue NW. While speaking with the Suspect, the Suspect stated they was not from the area and the cause of the swerving was from the Suspect looking at the GPS system. The Suspect stated the vehicle belonged to their brothers dealership and the Suspect was not employed by the dealership. A WALES/NCIC check revealed a Suspended status in Maryland and no status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION | 15:00:00 | 250718002412 | R/O observed the Suspect enter the Capitol Visitor Center Facility. The Suspect placed their belongings on the x-ray belt when R/O observed an image consistent with ammunition was flagged by the computer. A subsequent search of the bag revealed a black in color, firearm magazine with a carrying capacity of six (6) rounds, containing six rounds of ammunition. A WALES/NCIC check revealed no wants or warrants. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS was notified and responded to the scene. CIS was advised of the offense. |
