| DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - 1ST OFFENSE + CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE | 1:17:00 | 240901002260 | R/O responded to the 400 Block of New Jersey Avenue NW to provide backup to A/O conducting a traffic stop at the location. A/O observed a vehicle with no running lights traveling southbound in the intersection of North Capitol Street and Massachusetts Avenue NW. While speaking to the Suspect, R/O detected a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath and with bloodshot eyes. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. While conducting an inventory search of the vehicle, R/O observed a handgun in a black bag on the front passenger seat. The recovered handgun was loaded with one round in the chamber and a loaded magazine with nine (9) live rounds. CSS responded to process scene. CIS was notified and will investigate. | |

A traffic stop was conducted in the 1200 Block of First Street SW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the vehicle's registration was associated with a stolen vehicle out of Fairfax County, VA. A check of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) revealed the vehicle was not stolen and was not currently registered to the Suspect. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. |
