THEFT (THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS OR ACCESSORIES) 15:03:00 250811002631 R/O was in the 200 Block of New Jersey Avenue NW when they were approached by a Complainant that wanted to report a theft. The Complainant stated they parked their vehicle on a lot at that same location on Friday, August 8. Upon returning to the vehicle on August 11, the Complainant noticed the front license plate was missing off the vehicle. A canvass of the immediate area was met with negative results.
FAILURE TO APPEAR 11:48:00 250810002621 R/O-1 and R/O-2 observed an individual removing portions of a plant near the United States Botanic Garden Conservatory in the 100 Block of Maryland Avenue SW. A subject stop was subsequently initiated at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the individual revealed they were subject to an active bench warrant issued through the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Once the warrant was confirmed by Communications, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - 1ST OFF 2:36:00 250810002619 R/O observed a vehicle stopped in the Unit Block of D Street NW facing oncoming traffic. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O noticed slurred speech and initiated SFST's. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 20:44:00 250809002618 R/O observed a vehicle with heavy tinted windows traveling eastbound in the 100 Block of H Street SE. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 300 Block of Virginia Avenue SE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no driving status in Virginia, Maryland, or the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
THEFT II 10:07:00 250809002615 R/O was flagged down for a report of a theft in progress in the Unit Block of K Street SE. R/O located the Suspect at 15 K Street SE and conducted a show-up with positive results. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. The items stolen were returned to the Complainant.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY + AFFRAY 16:19:00 250808002610 R/O responded to the intersection of First and D Street NE about a possible crash and fight that occurred at that location. Upon arrival on the scene, the victim claimed that a person threw a water bottle at their vehicle which resulted in a cracked windshield. CSS responded to take photos of the damage. A show up was conducted and the victim confirmed the person as the individual who threw the bottle at their vehicle. Officers also found a Nalgene water bottle in the Suspect's possession and the Suspect admitted to throwing the bottle. The victim claimed that there was no physical altercation between the two Suspects. Upon further investigation, a witness standing in the 300 Block of First Street NE claimed that the driver of the vehicle and the pedestrian got into a physical altercation after the bottle was thrown at the vehicle. S1 was placed under arrest for destruction of property. S1 and S2 were placed under arrest for affray and both were transported to Headquarters for processing.
OPERATING AFTER SUSPENSION 18:55:00 250808002613 R/O observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Columbus Circle NE with expired Maryland temporary tags. RO conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE. A WALES/NCIC check confirmed that the Maryland tags were expired. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect's license revealed that the Suspect had a suspended license out of the District of Columbia with no permit status in Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DEFACING GOVERNMENT PROPERTY 11:05:00 250808002604 R/O-1 and R/O-2 were patrolling in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE when R/O-1 observed the Suspect tampering with a flagpole in the area. Upon further investigation, R/O-1 observed multiple flagpoles defaced with black permanent marker. R/O detained the Suspect after observing a folding knife tucked in his waistband. A search of the Suspect revealed a permanent marker on his person. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene.
NO PERMIT + COUNTERFEIT TAGS 15:24:00 250808002609 R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the Unit Block of Constitution Avenue NE displaying an expired temporary Virginia tag. A WALES/NCIC check of the registration revealed no return. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of Constitution Avenue NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no driving status in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 18:25:00 250808002612 R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the 100 Block of Constitution Avenue NE with non-operable break lights. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle revealed an expired registration. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of Constitution Avenue NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended license in Maryland and no status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
