A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE. While speaking to the driver, R/O noticed a moderately strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY LESS THAN $1000 | 14:40:00 | 240707001746 | R/O responded to the U.S. Botanic Gardens for a report of destroyed property. The Complainant stated that some of the cacti had been destroyed in the desert area. All attempts to locate the Suspect were met with negative results. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. | |
| THEFT II | 7:35:00 | 240707001745 | R/O responded to the West Front of the U.S. Capitol Building for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, the Complainant stated the concert production tent was shut down at 1900 hours on Saturday, July 6, 2024. When the Complainant returned on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at 0735 hours the tent was open. The Complainant noticed a black fan which is battery operated with a small light attached was missing. A search of the area was met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. | |
| UNLAWFUL ENTRY - MISD + CONTEMPT OF COURT | 2:44:00 | 240706001741 | R/O was approached by a Suspect at the Senate Door of the U.S. Capitol Building that had an active stay away order/barring notice issued by Criminal Investigations Section (CIS). R/O recognized the Suspect from the BOLO. The suspect stated that they were aware of the stay away order and were not supposed to be on Capitol grounds. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS + POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL (POCA) POSS OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE -MISD | 1:12:00 | 240706001740 | R/O observed a vehicle drive straight though a right turn only lane at the intersection of North Capitol Street and Massachusetts Avenue NW. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of E Street NW. During the stop, R/O detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from inside the vehicle. R/O observed the Suspect slurring his words while speaking, and had watery eyes. SFSTs were conducted, and due to multiple signs of impairment the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory search of the vehicle, a cup was discovered in the center cup holder with an odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage. Also discovered during the inventory search of the vehicle was a plastic baggie with several capsules containing an unknown yellow/white powder, within the vehicle's center console. CSS responded to process the scene, and initial laboratory testing of the capsules revealed a positive result for the street drug MDMA. | |
| THEFT FIRST DEGREE (THEFT FROM BUILDING) | 8:15:00 | 240706001742 | R/O responded to the West Front of the U.S. Capitol Building for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, the complainant stated the concert production tent was shut down at 2130 hours on Friday, July 5th. When the complainant returned on Saturday, July 6th at 0630 hours the tent was open. The complainant noticed two Motorola handheld radios were missing. A search of the area was met with negative results. CIS was notified. | |
| UNLAWFUL ENTRY + ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER RESISTING ARREST | 17:11:00 | 240705001737 | R/O responded to a call for a Suspect that jumped bike rack barriers on the West Front of the Capitol Building and proceeded to climb the stairs. The Suspect was instructed to stop but refused. While being detained the Suspect pulled away and resisted being arrested. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CIS was notified. | |

When R/O attempted to contact the office staff, he discovered the office to be unoccupied. Later the same day, A/O made contact with the Complainant who works in the office. CIS was notified. | |
| FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE | 10:13:00 | 240704001720 | R/O observed a vehicle traveling northbound in the 200 Block of Washington Avenue SW with an expired temporary registration. A WALES check of the vehicle revealed the registration belonged to a different vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed an active extraditable warrant out of Fairfax County, Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| THEFT SECOND DEGREE (ALL OTHER LARCENY) | 13:38:00 | 240704001722 | R/O responded to the West Front of the U.S. Capitol Building for the report of a theft. The Complainant reported to R/O they placed their wallet under the stage at approximately 2330 hours on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. When they returned at approximately 1300 hours on Thursday, July 4, 2024 the wallet was gone. An immediate canvass of the area was met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. |
